Welcome to the web home of the Meriwether County Sheriff's Office... This office is charged with the responsibility of serving and protecting our citizens and visitors.  The Sheriff's Office enforces all laws and ordinances, protects life and property, preserves the peace, and strives to prevent crime and disorder to the best of our ability.  The ordinances of Meriwether County, the laws of the State of Georgia, and the United States Constitution are set to be our guide in this endeavor.

Meriwether County is one of the largest counties in the State of Georgia, covering approximately 503 square miles. Sheriff  Steve Whitlock and his dedicated staff of men and women are proud to carry out the duties that they have been entrusted with by the citizens of this county. The Sheriff's Office currently consists of (19) Patrol Division units,  (7) Specialized units, (3) CID units, (4) School Resource Officers and a total of (17) Jail Staff.
